Very good.  Can you tell us about your family?

I met my wife in the summer of 1994, when I was on a mission trip to Macau.  She was serving as a missionary over there.  While I was there for my month, I “fell in love.”  More accurately the Lord led me to the woman of my dreams.  We got married in June of 1997.  We have had an amazing marriage thus far.  I am so excited I get to spend my life with her by my side.  We have way too many stories to tell in this short space.  Because of this wonderful wife that God has given me, He has given us three wonderful girls.  Kayla was born in Feb of 1999, Vanessa was born in May of 2000, and Kareena was born in Oct of 2001.  They have proven to be equal blessings of joy and love.  They each have given their lives to Christ and I have had the unique opportunity of baptizing them all.  What a gift that God has given me!  All three of them have their own distinct personality, and they all three love Jesus.  It is a privilege to be called their daddy.


List 5 words I could use to describe you.

I would use the words determined, driven, passionate, loving, and forgiving.  I would encourage you to ask those closest to me if those are accurate.


How and when did you become a Christian?

The Lord saved me from a wickedly dark path of defiantly evil behavior at the ripe old age of three.  I was blessed to be raised by a very Godly mom and dad who didn't just take me to church, but they lived and modeled everything I was taught at home.  They lived out even more than what I was taught.  I wish I could say that kept me from making some poor decisions in my teens and twenties.  I never really went down the party path.  But I did have some real personal sins that the Lord had to take control of in my life.  He also had to knock a whole ton of pride out of me.  Let me tell you... that HURT.  But, I have an amazing savior who has and is doing an amazing work in my life and I just want to share it with everybody.


If you had to choose one section of scripture from the Bible as your “Life Verse”, what would it be?

This is probably the toughest question of all.  I have to narrow it down to four verses.

8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8 (NIV)

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. - Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV)

What is your vision for New Hope Church?

My vision for new hope is an extension of my life mission.  I live to inspire and motivate others to a personal, passionate, purposeful life changing relationship with Jesus Christ.  I see us doing whatever we have to do to make that reality in people’s lives.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

If I could have one superpower it would be teleportation.  Then I wouldn’t have to get stuck in traffic or waste all that time driving to and from appointments.
